Research, development and application of marine engineering technology for marine resource exploitation and marine engineering construction is one of the important fields of the Institute. Its Hangzhou Guohai Ocean Engineering Survey and Design Institution is a specialized organization for ocean engineering survey, design and research and past Conformity of Quality System Certification (ISO9001) in 1999. It has the ability to make site and route selection, survey, design, environmental quality assessment, authentication of sea area utilization for port and dock, breakwater, navigation line, submarine cable and pipeline, offshore gas and oil field, coastal power industry and coastal protection projects. and a batch of engineering projects with great influence have been finished. Since the route survey for the first international submarine communication cable of China (ECSC), we have fulfilled desktop study and route survey for a number of such submarine cable and pipeline projects including China-Japan optical fiber cable system (CJ-FOSC), FLAG, China-US optical fiber cable network system, APCN2, C2C, FNAL cable network systems and Pinghu, Chunxiao oil/gas field pipelines.
