| Study on ocean circulation has been one of the key-point research work in the field of physical oceanography, and many national projects have been undertaken. The research interests include shelf circulation of the China seas, cold water mass circulation in Yellow Sea, coastal upwelling of Zhejiang and Fujian, the seasonal variation of water mass and circulation in the South China Sea, the variability of the Kuroshio and its mechanism, the structure and variation of the Northwest Pacific circulation and its interaction with the marginal seas, etc. Attention is also paid to the airsea interaction in recent years, The research interests include maintenance and variation mechanism of West Pacific / Indian Ocean Warm Pool, the oceanic response to the mesoscale disaster weather, oceanic information when the East Asian monsoon onset and the impact of Warm Pool on the climate of China. |
