Key Laboratory of Marine Ecosystem and Biogeochemistry, MNR

Key laboratory of Marine Ecosystem and Biogeochemistry was established in 2005 and it focuses on some ecological issues, including offshore marine environment protection and ecological safety, sustainable use of biological resources, responding to climate change and building ecological protection zone in Polar Regions and oceans. In the meantime, researchers in this laboratory also carry out researches relating to marine ecology, marine biogeochemistry, marine environment evolution and ecological effect, marine environment monitoring and biotechnology researches.
At present, there are 68 permanent researchers and more than 30 graduate students and mobile workers as well as some instruments and equipment with a total value of more than 100 million RMB in this laboratory. And it has  formed its own distinctive research features of combining scientific researches with observation technologies in terms of marine biodiversity, biogeochemical process of the Polar Regions and deep-sea area, offshore environmental change and ecological effect as well as online monitoring and biological technology of marine environment.
