Zhang Han, Associate Researcher of SOED of SIO won the AOGS Kamide Lecture Award

       Recently, Zhang Han, Associate Researcher of SOED of SIO won the AOGS Kamide Lecture Award at the 18th Annual Conference of Asia Oceania Geosciences Society (AOGS), and gave a report entitled “Processes of Ocean Response to Tropical Cyclones” to introduce the current research progress of ocean response to tropical cyclones in the academic world.
        Established in 2003, AOGS is dedicated to advancing the research of Asia and the world in the field of earth. AOGS has 8 branches, including atmospheric sciences, biogeosciences, hydrological sciences, interdisciplinary earth sciences, marine sciences, planetary sciences, solar and earth sciences, and solid earth sciences. The AOGS Annual Conference is an important regional and global academic conference, with more than 1,000 participants annually. In memory of Professor Yohsuke Kamide, one of the three founders of AOGS, AOGS has established the Kamide Lecture Award since 2015, to recognize young scientists under the age of 35 who have made important contributions in the field of earth sciences and invite them to give a special talk at the AOGS Conference. Only one scholar from each branch receives this honor each year.
        In addition, Associate Researcher Zhang Han also published a review article entitled “Upper Ocean Response to Tropical Cyclones: a Review” in the journal Geoscience Letters under AOGS, introducing the current research progress of the upper ocean response to tropical cyclones in the academic world.
