In order to further perform the memorandum signed by and between All-Russia Research Institute of Geology and Mineral Resources of the World Ocean (VNIIO) and SIO earlier this year in the field of marine resources and environment. At the invitation of the Key Laboratory of Submarine Geosciences, six researchers from VNIIO, including the deputy director Georgy Cherkashev visited China from November 4 to 7. Mr. Cherkashev is hired as a part-time professor of the laboratory and the letter of appointment was issued by Mr. Li Jiabiao.
