Recently, a seminar on ocean observation data and technology jointly sponsored by the Marine Ecosystem Observation and Research Station on the Yangtze River Estuary, Ministry of Natural Resources and the Observation and Research Station of Global Ocean Argo System (Hangzhou), MNR was held in Hangzhou. The conference was held online and offline simultaneously, and more than 100 representatives from various scientific research institutions in China participated in the conference.
At the conference, front-line researchers from the National Center of Ocean Standards and Metrology, Laurel Technologies Company and Xiamen University gave special reports, discussed and exchanged marine observation issues, including instrument calibration, sampling methods, on-site data processing, quality control, laboratory performance comparison, etc. Hu Bo, a senior engineer, introduced the basic principle, application scenarios and common quality control methods of the CTD; Engineer Zhao Liancheng introduced the reasons for data drift of CTD sensors, the common methods for dealing with data drift and the means of on-site data processing; Engineers Guo Liguo and Wang Lifang made reports on the application of carbonate system parameters (DIC and pH value) and the online automatic observation system of seawater nutrients. In exchange and discussion, the participating scientists discussed instrument deployment, calibration and data comparison, data quality control and other aspects. The seminar provided an exchange platform for promoting the cooperation in different links in the observation fields of marine instruments, observation technology, data analysis and data control, and improving the data quality of various observation methods.
