On July 7, SIO held the 2020 graduate graduation ceremony and master's degree award ceremony, and set up a live web video channel for the first time, so that the graduate tutors, relatives and friends who could not come to the ceremony could attend the graduation ceremony "over-the- air" together. Director Li Jiabiao, Secretary of the Disciplinary Committee Wang Xiaobo, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Mei Xianjun, and Deputy Directors Fang Yinxia and Chen Jianfang attended the ceremony. 37 graduates successfully concluded study at SIO and set sail again to begin a new journey of life.
     This year, 39 people from SIO obtained a master's degree. Director Li Jiabiao awarded each graduate a degree certificate and turn the tassel. At the graduation ceremony, the commemorative albums of the graduates were played in a loop on the big screen. The photos recorded their study and life in SIO. The smiling faces and figures embodied the innocence and touch of the classmates for three years.
     Xue Bin, Director of the Graduate Center, announced the list of national scholarships, outstanding graduates, outstanding student cadres and outstanding master's thesis winners of Zhejiang Province and Second Institute of Oceanography. The leaders of SIO issued honorary certificates to the commended students. Deputy Director Chen Jianfang sent graduates a message of "forging ahead and sailing bravely". He encouraged the students to adapt to the changes of the times, adhere to the correct values, and continue to struggle, maintain a normal attitude, and create a better future of their own. The mentor representatives Zhou Feng and Chen Yining hoped that the graduates would continue to work hard to improve themselves, innovate constantly, and strive like surging wave in the future.

 The graduate representatives Wang Di and Feng Yunzhi expressed that they would keep in mind the spirit of SIO, apply what they have learned, and strive to be "builders" and "pathfinders" in their respective jobs and scientific research positions, constantly surpass themselves and have wonderful lives.
