      From October 14 to 16, the “Pacific Arctic Group (PAG) 2019 Fall Meeting”, hosted by the Polar Research Institute of China and undertaken by the Polar Science Research Center of SIO, was held in Hangzhou. More than 20 experts from the United States, Canada, South Korea, Japan and Shanghai Jiaotong University, East China Normal University attended the meeting.
      The PAG is organized by the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC). It aims to plan, coordinate and carry out scientific activities in the Arctic Pacific Sector, and the scientific goal mainly focuses on four aspects of climate, pollutants, human activities, the structure and function of the Arctic ecosystem. The working group has led and carried out a number of research programs, including the Distributed Biological Observation Program (DBO), the Arctic Pacific Climate and Environment Observation Program (PACEO), and the Central Arctic Ocean Research Program (CAO). The member states include China, the United States, Russia, Canada, Japan and South Korea.
      At the meeting, representatives from various countries respectively introduced the work progress of the Arctic Pacific working sector, and then conducted in-depth discussion and reached consensus on the follow-up research directions, cooperation goals and other aspects.
