The SIO won the National Natural Science Foundation Excellent Youth Fund

Recently, the National Natural Science Foundation of China announced the project grant results in the centralized application period of the National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2023. During this stage, the SIO received a total of 27 project grants, including 2 key projects, 1 excellent youth project, 13 general projects and 11 youth projects, among which Academician Li Jiabiao and Researcher Chen Jianfang received key project grants respectively, and Associate Researcher Chen Peng received the excellent youth project grant.
As one of the important funding channels for basic research in China, the National Natural Science Foundation of China has become increasingly competitive in recent years. The quantity and quality of grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China in the SIO remain stable, indicating that the scientific and technological innovation ability and basic research level of the SIO have been continuously improved.
In order to encourage and guide the researchers of the SIO to carry out basic research actively, the SIO organizes well-known experts both inside and outside the SIO to exchange and share fund application experience every year, and actively plays the guiding role of departments and teams to improve the quality of projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Next, the SIO will do a good job in project management, ensure the smooth implementation of the project, and continuously improve the basic research level of the SIO.
