The SIO organized the 2025 Marine Scientific Expedition Practice Activity.

Recently, the SIO organized the Marine Scientific Expedition Practice Activity titled “Exploring Marine Scientific Expeditions, Embracing the Blue Faith”. Led by Deputy Director Mei Xianjun, over 30 people from relevant cooperative units and the functional and support departments of the SIO participated.
The event included a series of activities such as safety training, fire and life-saving drills, flag-raising ceremonies, introductions and visits to the “Dayang” vessel and its instruments, marine survey technology introductions and practical equipment operation drills, business exchanges and popular science reports. In addition, activities such as knot-tying learning competitions and dumpling-making were arranged, providing participants with a zero-distance, multi-faceted experience of front-line marine scientific expeditions.
This activity was a vivid practice of the deep integration of Party building and business. On the one hand, management personnel gained a deeper understanding of various aspects of marine scientific expeditions and experienced the hardships of front-line marine scientific expeditions. On the other hand, it facilitated business exchanges among brother units, laying a solid foundation for further cooperation. Through this marine scientific expedition practice activity, the blue faith of the General Secretary was integrated into daily work, and transformed into an unconscious guiding principle that contributes to the construction of a maritime power.
