On May 5, the 4th “Innovation Cup” Football Match hosted by the Youth League Committee of SIO and undertaken by the Youth League Branch of the Key Laboratory of Marine Ecosystem Dynamics came to a successful conclusion. After half a month of competition among eight teams of SIO, the Agency Team won the championship, the Engineering Team and the Ecosystem Team won the second and third place respectively.

The group round-robin competition system was adopted. Submarine Team, Ecosystem Team, Satellite Dynamics Team, Island Team (Zhejiang Academy of Marine Sciences), Agency Team, Engineering Team, Postgraduate Team 1 and Postgraduate Team 2 actively participated in the competition. Each team was ranked according to the points. In addition to the regular men’s football match, women’s fixed-point shooting also made the match interesting and uncertain, reflecting the purpose of “everyone participates to keep fit and enjoy” at the beginning of the football match. The game was full of passion, and the players were in great shape and fought hard, showing a good mental state. The spectators outside the field were also red-blooded, cheering for the teams they supported.

After 16 fierce competitions, the Agency Team, Engineering Team and Ecosystem Team won the top three, and the Postgraduate Team won the Best Organization Award. In the individual rankings, Liu Jingjing of the Agency Team scored all 15 goals at fixed-point shooting and won the Best Women’s Scorer. Han Zhengbing of the Agency Team scored a total of 13 goals, ranking first in the Men’s Scorer List.

The “Innovation Cup” Football Match is a traditional event of SIO, which encourages young people to exchange skills, enrich their spare time and enhance team cohesion. Adhering to the principle of “friendship first, participation first”, the players improved their skills and gained friendship.
