The COMRA 47th Cruise Unveiled SIO’s Cooperation with China Minmetals Corporation

On August 29, “Xiangyanghong 06” departed from Qingdao to the Clarion-Clipperton fracture zone in the East Pacific Ocean to explore the polymetallic nodule mining lot. This cruise (The COMRA 47th Cruise) was initiated by China Minmetals Corporation, with Associate Researcher Li Xiaohu of the Key Laboratory of Submarine Geosciences, SIO (the Second Institute of Oceanography, SOA) as the chief scientist. SIO’s Deputy Director Zheng Yulong came to Qingdao to see them off.
