Recently, the third “Atmosphere and Ocean Predictability Seminar” was held, which was jointly organized by the State Key Laboratory of Satellite Ocean Environment Dynamics of SIO, College of Oceanography of Hohai University, Atmospheric Sciences Division of Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and other scientific institutions. More than 100 experts and young researchers in the field of atmosphere and ocean from more than 10 domestic scientific research institutions participated in the seminar.
In course of the seminar, 32 academic reports were proposed on topics such as interactions between atmosphere and ocean, predictability research, data assimilation, numerical simulation, target observation, etc. Academician Chen Dake from SIO was invited to participate in and give a special report. He affirmed current achievements on the predictability research in the field of atmosphere and ocean, introduced the concept of monitoring and predicting system in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and proposed his expectations on young scholars for innovation on scientific research and pursuit of perfection.
The seminar provided a platform for in-depth display and exchange for scientific researchers, which gathered numerous young and middle-aged scientific researchers to conduct academic discussions in a more detailed and professional direction in the field of atmosphere and ocean.
