“Yunqi 2050·Ocean Forum” Hosted by SIO

    On April 24, the "Yunqi 2050· Ocean Forum" sponsored by SIO and co-organized by the China Polar Research Center was held in Yunqi Town, Hangzhou. Scientists took the advantage of a unique forum to promote the concept of "cherish the earth, harmonious coexistence between man and nature" during the 52nd World Earth Day theme publicity week. 

"Yunqi 2050" was the scientific and technological exchange activity for young people initiated by Alibaba. It aimed to invite young people from all over the world to explore the infinite possibilities of the future. This year, "Yunqi 2050" set its sights on the ocean, and young scientists from our institute were invited to share the marine science on the site. 

The theme of this ocean forum was "Guarding the marine ecology and guarding the blue fertile soil". Six young scientists, Wang Yuntao, Tang Limei, Li Teng, Zhang Ruiyan, Tian Yuan and He Hu, from the State Key Laboratory of Satellite Ocean Environment Dynamics, the Key Laboratory of Submarine Geosciences, MNR and the Key Laboratory of Marine Ecosystem Dynamics, Ministry of Natural Resources, respectively, introduced marine ecological protection, marine origin, marine carbon remote sensing, undersea life exploration, marine and land evolution, Blue Ocean City and other topics, which showed the work accumulation and latest achievements of SIO in the field of marine scientific research.

In addition to on-site sharing, the forum also specially invited Wang Shuoren, the head of Zhongshan Station in Antarctica, to introduce the basic information and scientific investigation of Zhongshan Station in China through video connection; connected with Han Han, the founder of the Zhiyu Sustainable Science and Technology Development Research Center to introduce the current situation of aquaculture and food safety issues in China.
