Members of the United Nations Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf visited our institut

Recently, 15 members and former members of the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf visited our institute after The 6th International Symposium on Science and Law of the Continental Shelf and International Seabed Area System. The deputy director Huang Daji, the chief engineer Li Mingbi, Zeng Jiangning, the deputy director of Science and Technology Department, Fang Yinxia, the director of Key Laboratory of Submarine Geosciences exchanged with the members of the Commission.
At the meeting, deputy director Huang Daji expressed a warm welcome to the visit of the members and the former members, pointing out that the Second Institute of Oceanography, SOA has maintained a long-term cooperative relationship with the members and hoping that the two sides will continue to maintain a good cooperation in the future. Researcher Li Mingbi introduced the general situation of our institute, and Prof. Park, chairman of the Commission, expressed his thanks. The members also visited the Key Laboratory of Submarine Geosciences.
During the visit, Dr. Ma Dong, academician of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia, Prof. Paterlini from the Hydrology Office of Argentine Navy, Prof. Mosher from the Bedford Institute of Oceanography in Canada, and ambassador Adnan from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman made four academic reports on the oil and gas of the Malaysia basin, Argentina Antarctic survey, Canada Arctic survey and environmental changes in the Arabian Sea in the undersea laboratory and ecological laboratory.
