On April 21-24, Ms. Stephanie, President of the Madagasca National Bureau of Mines and Strategic Industries, Ms. Andri, Director of the Bureau, and Geophysicist Mr. Tolo visited the SIO, and both sides renewed the strategic cooperation agreement.
Director Fang Yinxia extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation from Madagascar. Both sides discussed the international cooperation voyage and joint laboratory construction between China and Malaysia. The Madagascar Ministry of Mines and Strategic Resources thanked the Ministry of Natural Resources and the SIO for their efforts in China-Malaysia marine science and technology cooperation, delivered a letter of gratitude to the SIO in the name of the Ministry of Mines and Strategic Resources, and expressed full support for the construction of the joint laboratory. Both sides renewed a new memorandum of understanding for cooperation.
The visit of the Malaysian delegation expressed its sincerity and expectation for cooperation with the SIO in the field of marine science and technology, and strengthened the friendly relationship between the two countries. The success of China-Malaysia cooperation has laid the foundation for the establishment of China-Africa Marine Science and Blue Economy Cooperation Center, which is being actively promoted by the SIO. In the future, both sides will create more cooperation opportunities on a broader stage.
