On May 23, Director Nasser Al Harthi and his delegation from the National Survey Authority of Oman visited the SIO and Deputy Director Chen Jianfang attended the meeting.
Established in 1974, National Survey Authority of Oman is responsible for land surveying and mapping and engineering within Oman. Both sides introduced their own development history, business direction and research characteristics during the meeting, with a focus on in-depth discussion on coastal remote sensing monitoring. The National Survey Authority of Oman proposed the need to send staff to China to participate in international exchange training courses and graduate exchange learning, and they reached a preliminary consensus on establishing stable cooperation channels and cultivating high-level talents in the future.
The delegation visited the State Key Laboratory of Satellite Ocean Environment Dynamics and the satellite ground station of the SIO after the meeting. Departments such as the Science and Technology Department, the State Key Laboratory of Satellite Ocean Environment Dynamics, the Ecological Laboratory, and the Technical Institute participated in the event.
