At the end of August, 70 postgraduates of Grade 2022 of the SIO completed their registr.
To make the freshmen get familiar with the study and living environment quickly, the Postgraduate Education Center organized the quality development ice-breaking activity. At the Lin’an base of the SIO, the freshmen visited various laboratories and ocean sample halls, and had a preliminary experience of the upcoming marine scientific research. At the same time, the freshmen worked in teams to enhance the familiarity and cooperation among students by jointly creating team culture, displaying the team style, and completing such challenging tasks as “dragons playing with pearls” and “The Magical Brush”. In the joint construction of “DA YANG HAO”, the six teams performed their respective duties and worked together to successfully complete the creation, frame building, hull painting and other work of the “icebreaker”, and the “icebreaker” set sail smoothly.
At the Liangzhu Museum, freshmen visited the Liangzhu ruins and the archaeological achievements of Liangzhu culture, and felt the profound heritage of Hangzhou, a famous historical and cultural city, through jade wares, stoneware, pottery, lacquer wood wares and other precious cultural relics on display. The freshmen expressed their high expectations for the upcoming postgraduate study and life, and that they will strive to carry forward the spirit of the SIO “staying realistic and pragmatic, linking theory with practice”, learn their skills and contribute to the ocean cause.
