He is Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory of Satellite Ocean Environmental Dynamics, a PhD holder, Research Professor, and doctoral supervisor. He also serves as Adjunct Professor at Zhejiang University and Hohai University. He has been selected for the National “Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talents Project,” the Zhejiang “151 Talent Program,” and the SOA “Double Hundred Talent Program.”
He has led three sub-projects of the National 973 Program, three general and key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, one Zhejiang Provincial Young Scientists Training Project, and five national special projects. His research focuses on coastal dynamical processes, ocean numerical modeling, and marine ecosystem dynamics. He has made valuable contributions in areas such as frontal stability and frontal circulation structures, wind–tide interactions and seasonal stratification in the Bohai Sea, the Yellow Sea Cold Water Mass and Yellow Sea Warm Current, circulation and cross-shelf exchange processes in the East China Sea, and the influence of physical processes on marine ecological processes. He has published more than 90 academic papers.
