主要从事海洋沉积及环境演变的调查与研究工作。研究领域包括人类活动背景下的现代沉积过程和陆海相互作用、深海沉积记录与第四纪环境变化等。
先后负责国家和省部级科研项目8项，包括国家自然科学基金1项，国家海洋局青年基金1项，国家专项项目4项。多次担任国家专项项目航次首席科学家。
已在国内外学术刊物上发表研究论文30余篇，参与编写专著1部，授权发明专利1项，获海洋工程科学技术奖二等奖1项。
