The SIO initiated Zhejiang Provincial Platform for International Standardization Innovation and was selected as an excellent case of Zhejiang Provincial Standard Internationalization.

On November 4, during the Zhejiang Provincial World Standards Day series of activities, the standardization case of the SIO titled “Striving with Vigor to Build a Glorious Era of International Standardization in Marine Technology” was selected as an excellent case of Zhejiang Provincial standard internationalization.
This case narrates the journey of China’s international standardization work in marine technology, led by two successive chairmen of the subcommittee, Academician Li Jiabao and Academician Chen Dake, who have been deeply involved in the field of marine standards for ten years. They have developed the International Organization for Standardization Marine Technology Subcommittee (ISO/TC 8/SC 13) from an initial five member countries to 20 member countries and six working groups, and from zero standards to the publication of 16 international standards, promoting and disseminating innovative practices in international standardization work in marine technology.
Previously, the SIO, as the chairman, secretariat and domestic technical counterpart unit of ISO/TC 8/SC 13, jointly initiated the Zhejiang Provincial Platform for International Standardization Innovation with seven units, including the Hangzhou Standardization Research Institute (ISO/TC 321 Secretariat) and the International Center on Small Hydro Power (ISO/TC 339 Secretariat), and signed a strategic cooperation agreement for the innovation platform.
In the future, the SIO will actively rely on the innovation platform to carry out standardization work exchanges and cooperation, and help internationalize Zhejiang standards by integrating cross-industry and interdisciplinary shared resources, pushing the international standardization of marine technology to a new level.
