Yu Zhiteng holds a PhD and is a Research Professor and Master’s supervisor. He received his bachelor’s degree from Nanjing University and his PhD from Tongji University. His research focuses on seafloor seismic exploration.
His work centers on the deep dynamics of the oceanic lithosphere, using seismological methods to investigate lithospheric structure and deep processes, as well as the mechanisms of microearthquakes along mid-ocean ridges. He currently serves as a Young Editorial Board Member of Earth Science and the Journal of Earth Science. He has led eight research projects, including the Excellent Young Scientists Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), a major project of the Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation, and the 2018 China Postdoctoral Innovative Talents Support Program. He has been selected as a Leading Talent in Scientific and Technological Innovation under the MNR High-Level Talent Program, a Zhejiang Young High-Level Talent, and a SIO “Qihang Scholar.”
He has published more than 20 papers in international journals such as Science Advances, Nature Communications, Earth and Planetary Science Letters, and Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth.
